The Selene is a profile bed mattress which comprises a specially designed, High Resilient (HR) castellated foam to help provide pressure reduction for users at a high risk of pressure sores and ulcers.
The specially designed castellation cuts in the foam of the mattress, helps the uniform distribution of the patient\'s weight providing comfort and safety.
The mobility of castellated foam allows relief of pressure points to enhance blood circulation and thereby reducing pressure ulcers risk. The 2-way stretch, waterproof, anti-bacterial, vapour permeable PU cover, improves patient comfort and maintains skin integrity by reducing shear and friction forces whilst aiding infection control.
A toughened, non-slip PU base protects the mattress when used on an electric profiling bed frame. The mattress does not require turning and the cover is zipped around 3-sides to aid removal and mattress inspection.
Both cover and foam are in full compliance with BS 7177 Crib 5 fire retardancy standards as well as Medium hazard fire risk, suitable for hospitals and nursing care facilities. The cover can be laundered to high temperature (80 degrees) to ensure full sterilisation between patient uses.
